Timing, we all know, is everything. Early this week as we crossed the continental divide east of Mesa Verde we realized that we're ready to be back again with things familiar: home, family, friends.It has been a wonderful two months and 9700 miles (so far) of new places and remarkable experiences, but the prospect of another mountain or another night in a very small tent is losing its appeal.
Happily, we seemed to to arrive at this point at the same time. In any case we're now driving more and touring less. We're looking forward to seeing little Claire in North Carolina by the weekend, and returning to the Cape in early May. -DJN
